Inventory

Inventory

Appliance inventory delivers a detailed, up-to-date hardware and software inventory. It allows you to delve deeply into the hardware/software details of each PC and server in your environment, as well as to see a high level view of aggregate values.

Software Distribution

Software Distribution

The K1000 has flexible software distribution capabilities. They allow for the scheduled deployment of any software package to PCs and servers in flexible groups that you create. There are many options including priority orders, pre/post installation user alerts, snooze, uninstalls, smart remote site management and Wake-on LAN.

Patch Management

Patch Management

The K1000 provides OS patching for Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as a wide range of third-party applications. It has scheduling flexibility with options for machines to catch-up should they miss a schedule. Patch status is displayed visually on the main patching page, as well as in a detail level integrated with computer inventory and reporting.

Asset Management

Asset Management

K1000 asset management gives you the ability to quickly assign, track and reconcile assets. PC, server and software assets are integrated directly from inventory. Integration with the Dell Application Catalog provides accurate and reliable software license usage and tracking across application versions, name variations, publisher names, and categorization of the applications. Software metering can also be enabled to tie together inventory, usage and even license counts. The asset management capability is flexible and extensible, to easily allow importing of asset data from other systems and spreadsheets for centralized asset tracking.

Service Desk

Service Desk

The K1000 provides a fully configured, integrated and customizable service desk. The K1000 service desk allows you to create and manage service desk incidents, as well as trouble shoot and address any problems through deep integration with other K1000 capabilities. These capabilities include inventory, remote control, software distribution, patching and configuration management. All incident management can be handled through the Web-based K1000 management console, as well as through email. The service desk also provides self-help features for users, including an integrated knowledge base and software portal. Integration with Active Directory enables single sign-on so administrators and end-users to easily access the K1000 console and user portal with their corporate logon credentials

Security Audit and Enforcement

Security Audit and Enforcement

The K1000 assesses vulnerability with both OVAL and SCAP scanning of all managed Windows systems. In addition, the K1000 uses remediation utilities to identify, lock down and quarantine endpoint security vulnerabilities.

Reporting and Alerts

Reporting and Alerts

KACE Appliances provide reporting capabilities across the full range of functions, including inventory, license compliance, patching, security and service desk. Reports can be created with our easy-to-use wizard, as well as manually coded in SQL. Reports can be run on demand or emailed to you at pre-determined times.

Power Management

Power Management

For all Dell systems, including desktops, laptops and servers, the K1000 inventory capability can capture the Dell Service Tag and create a link within the Detailed Inventory view. Clicking the link will allow the administrator to view the Service Tag History at Dell.com.

The Dell Client and Server features provides administrators with the ability to inventory the revision levels of BIOS, firmware and drivers of your Dell equipment, including desktops, laptops and servers. After collecting this information, the K1000 will download the necessary updates from the Dell Update Catalogs, providing you with the option of scheduling deployment of the updates.
