Recovery Manager for Exchange

Exchange recovery and discovery from a single console

Quickly and easily recover Exchange and email data without a dedicated recovery server.

Recovery Manager for Exchange makes email recovery fast and easy—without the need for a dedicated recovery server. From a single console, you can execute an Exchange database recovery to retrieve message-level data from multiple sources.

Make your email recovery easy with Recovery Manager’s intelligent search function based on sender, recipient, date, subject, attachment or keyword. You also can search by advanced patterns and other custom queries, or compare an online mailbox with its backup to identify any changes. After your search, Recovery Manager can export the data in your choice of formats to assist with email discovery requests.

Features

  • Federated search — Recovery Manager for Exchange lets you search multiple email sources from a single console, including Office 365, production mailboxes (and archives), public and personal folders (.pst), offline Exchange databases (.edb), Archive Manager, and VSS snapshots.
  • Multiple export options — Recovery Manager’s powerful export capabilities make collecting email data easier than ever. Now you can export search results in .eml, .msg, .pst or .txt formats, or to an archived mailbox, public folder, Exchange online mailbox, Office 365 or Archive Manager.
  • Intelligent search — Search for keywords or number patterns in the body of an email, as well as headers, deleted items, threads, categories or attachment types. You can even expand your search to look for a particular sender, subject line or any related messages.
  • Compare source and target folders — Quickly compare the contents in your source and target containers to restore only the data you need.
  • Supports backup software — Retrieve data from native Microsoft backups, as well as your other Dell software, including NetVault Backup, NetVault FastRecover and vRanger. You can also easily search EMC NetWorker, IBM Tivoli, Microsoft Data Protection Manager, and Symantec Backup Exec/NetBackup.
  • Direct access to tape — Get fast access to your tape-format backups, including Windows NT Backup or Microsoft Tape Format (MFT); EMC NetWorker, Open Tape Format (OTF) and Tape Archive (TAR).
  • Task automation — For large email search requirements, use the task wizard to automate and schedule the searching and exporting of email data. PowerShell can also be used for faster scripting of recovery options that accelerate cataloging, searching and exporting.
  • Reporting — Easily retrieve details on any of your searches, messages restored or tasks completed. Recovery Manager’s inclusive reporting is more than a time saver; it helps improve your security overall.
