Hi. This is Jeff Podlasek with Toad DB2 Development. In our Toad for DB2 version 5.5 release, we introduced a storage group analysis feature for DB2 and LUW. I've got Toad up and running. And I've got a database explorer tap open. And I've selected storage groups. A couple storage groups are being displayed.
If I right-click and select Space Management Storage Group Analysis, a new storage group analysis document will open. And this is a new feature for DB2 LUW in our 5.5 release. So by default the first storage group gets selected. You can see that this is a partition environment, where a couple of these stores groups span environments.
What I'm going to do now is group by storage group name. And then I'm going to sort by partition number. So now we've got a list of stores groups and then explicit partition information per storage group. And you could multi select. So each storage group you select when you select one on the bottom, the top grid will update to reflect that.
You could use the Control key and hold that down while you click to select multiple storage groups at the same time to have them graphed. And this is useful to see and identify how much space is being used, how much space is free for your storage group. So it's basically by device.
So this is a pretty handy feature because more and more people are using storage groups going forward with DB2 LUW. You'll be able to use this to see what devices are free, what devices are becoming full. So we hope that you find this feature useful. And thank you for using Toad and DB2.
