Hello my name is Robert Pound, a Product Technologist for the Toad Business Intelligence Suite. Today, we will be discussing how to publish your automation scripts from Data Point to Toad Intelligence Central Server. To begin, I've opened up Toad Data Point. And I have my automation script that I wish to publish open and ready.
The automation script simply exports SQL data to an HTML table. And sends out some additional logging. This happens to be a useful script for me. However, it may not be advantageous to run this on my laptop at 4 a.m.
For this, we have the publish option at the bottom, which opens up a publishing summary page similar to that when publishing up data sets and views. I select my connection and my desired folder. Name the script and choose overwrite if existing, if that's desirable. A description.
I can also choose to add tags, which allow for easier searching of the specific script. Sharing settings, I can choose to share with all, some, or none. Authentication shows me what connections are used during the script. This is important to consider when publishing scripts, as the connectivity on your Toad intelligent server may be different than that on your laptop.
We can also choose to schedule immediately or to run on a schedule. For this, I will schedule daily at 6 a.m. And begin today. And select Publish.
The automation script published successfully. We could view the logs now, but I will select no and simply go to the Intelligence Central Server. Select my script. And I can view the details for this script. So we can see the sharing options, the description, when it was created, and the log. This initially ran when it was published. And everything ran successfully.
