Hi, my name is Julie Hyman. And I'm the Product Manager for the Toad Business Intelligence Suite of Products. Which includes, Toad Data Point Professional. In this short video, I will be showing how we have enhanced the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition connector in Toad Data Point Professional Version 3.3.
The first area we've enhanced is to allow users to see more than one subject area when connecting to a single OBIEE instance. In previous releases, a user needed to create separate connections for each subject area. But in version 3.3, you can now see all of the subject areas within a single connection.
So in this case, I'm connecting to one Oracle Business Intelligence enterprise instance. And I'm seeing all of the subject areas that are available for my login. A second area of enhancement is within any one of these subject areas. We now expose more hierarchies within the actual data.
So the way that the subject areas are built within Oracle allows for multiple hierarchies of data. In previous releases, we only allowed two levels of hierarchy. But now we support all of the levels of hierarchy as they're built in Oracle Business Intelligence.
And lastly, the new OBIEE connector exposes more than just subject areas. Queries that have been written and are exposed to your login in the Oracle Business Intelligence enterprise platform, are also exposed through this new connector. So let me just switch my connector here so we can see one that has instance of actual query instead of in written.
So in this case here, my subject areas. And then here are all of the queries that are available to my log in as well. And so this will expose, again, all of the queries that are out there in this platform available to me. And as new queries are pushed to me, they'll become automatically available for me. And I can use them within Toad Data Point, just as any other standard object.
