Hi, and welcome. This video will cover the scheduling component in Quest's Migration Suite for SharePoint. First and foremost, in order for you to schedule migration jobs, whether migrations of items, lists, or sites or site collections, you would want to switch over to the project mode. And then from within project mode, you'll have the ability, every time you initiate a job, whether through the wizard or by dragging-dropping content or copying and pasting, you'll be able to schedule migration jobs.
I'm going to delete some of the migration jobs I have. And let's walk through an example. Let's pick our SharePoint 2010 site. And let's copy-- what's this? This is a list of product changes.
Let's take a look at it in SharePoint. Looks good. That's a good source. Let's right-click and let's copy this list. And let's put it from our dev environment. Let's put it in production.
So we're going to right-click and we're going to paste this list into production. Let me log in to my production site. And then you'll notice here-- well, first of all, let's call it Product Changes.
There's a scheduling interface. So we're going to schedule this. We can schedule it to run daily, weekly, or monthly. I'm going to choose to run it daily, but I'll show you how what the monthly look like. So here's monthly, where you can specify the day of the month and then the month.
If you choose weekly, specify how often and the days. In our case, we're going to do daily. We're going to click Next. And we are going to run this.
So right now, it's 1 o'clock. And it just turned 1. So we should be OK just making it 1:01. So we're going to run this at 1:01. And we're going to click Next. And we're going to click Finish.
So this will create a migration job for us that's going to run on scheduled basis. In our case, within a minute from now. And we'll click Next. Obviously there's a lot of options to choose from. And then we're going to go ahead and click Finish.
OK. So you're going to notice Product Changes text run is at 13:01. And within less than 60 seconds, this is going to run. So you're going to see it initiate in less than a minute from now. So we'll just sit and watch it until it executes.
Notice that the job just started right now. And this is running now on scheduled basis. Now, that's one of the options or one of the reasons, from a best-practice perspective, why you'd want to put the product-- where you installed the product on the server that you're not going to turn off and go home with.
And this completed. And if we now go to the list on the target destination. And this is production. Let's right-click and refresh it. This is going to connect us back to that site. And we'll see the Product Changes in here.
So here's Product Changes. And view that in the browser. So this is what we just generated right now. And if we actually go to View All Site Content, you'll see that list Product Changes, four items created a minute ago. This concludes this video. Thanks for listening in.
