How to configure Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise alarm actions
Diagnose MySQL problems in real time with Spotlight™ on MySQL. This MySQL performance tool graphically displays all database activity in an intuitive graphical user interface, making it easy for you to respond to issues as they arise. Spotlight also allows you to drill down to find in-depth information regarding the performance problem’s source. And, since run time is unique to your MySQL databases, the MySQL performance tool calibrates itself to a baseline of your typical database activity, automatically establishing the speed of the internal flows and other activity indicators. When a threshold is met, you’ll receive audible or visual alerts to prevent issues from impacting end users.
Get real-time visualization of MySQL database activity, including configuration settings and process flows, through a single graphic display.
Use graphs, flows, and visual icons to detect problem areas, including performance bottlenecks, in complex data-sharing environments.
Diagnose problems faster by reviewing essential details of your database’s problem areas.
View operating system metrics, such as I/O, CPU, processes and memory.
Before installing Spotlight on MySQL, ensure your system meets the following minimum hardware and software requirements:
A Pentium-based or equivalent PC with:
512 megabytes of RAM (minimum). 1 gigabyte recommended. Memory consumption will increase for multiple simultaneous connections.
1 gigabyte of free disk space. This should exist on a local disk drive rather than a network drive. Extra disk space will be required if you choose to log historical snapshots from within Spotlight.
MySQL. Spotlight on MySQL supports MySQL versions 5.0.3 or later that employ the InnoDB storage engine. With reduced functionality, it also supports versions of MySQL that use other storage engines (such as MyISAM). Spotlight on MySQL may NOT support versions of the MySQL server prior to 5.0.3.
The following MySQL database servers are supported for database queries. (You must have the Database Administrator [DBA] user ID and password for the database you want to diagnose.)
The following server operating systems are supported for Operating System Server queries: Unix:
