Improve code quality, performance and maintainability with ease

Code Tester for Oracle is the only tool that enables you to automate PL/SQL code testing. This key component of the Toad Development Suite for Oracle provides you with an efficient and reliable method of performing thorough PL/SQL code tests. With Code Tester for Oracle, you can easily eliminate functional errors and costly bugs. It also enables you to create elaborate regression tests, either to verify that any revised code is correct or to run as part of an automation script. Even if you’re unfamiliar with the code, the testing allows you to make changes with confidence. Code Tester for Oracle allows you deploy high-quality code to production and reduce the total cost of ownership of your Oracle database management system.

If you’re a developer, Code Tester for Oracle helps you:

  • Define tests quickly by simply describing the correct behavior and responsiveness of your projects without writing a single line of code
  • Execute tests with the press of a button for individual programs and test suites
  • Isolate and fix bugs rapidly
  • Customize testing options and save them
  • Recall tests whenever they need to be run
  • Manage nested suites with minimal effort
  • Create more than one test definition for the same program unit
  • Build a reputation for developing reliable, high-quality software

If you’re a development manager or an IT manager, Code Tester for Oracle helps you:

  • Reduce the costs of maintaining applications
  • Understand the application’s quality
  • Implement a complete test plan before a single line of code is written
  • Run reports that analyze the test status of both individual programs and the entire application
  • Meet deadlines for application rollouts with confidence

Test Explorer – From this main screen, you can view the state of the code from a high level as well as run individual tests and suites of tests. Plus, you can instantly see the status of all your programs – whether they are valid, whether the associated test-case evaluations are true, and which units have problems. The Test Explorer groups related tests into a suite, making it easier to run those tests as needed.

Test Builder – With this intuitive interface, you can define and build tests. Plus, you can describe desired tests and the expected outcomes. Test Builder quickly creates more than 60 complex test scenarios for you. It constructs better code by providing a list of pre-defined, common tasks required for a given activity.

Test Reporter – Use this rich reporting interface to build reports on test cases for insight on test results and the development process. Whether you choose to display information in PDF, HTML, RTF, Excel, or image format, your team can quickly determine the level of code coverage and see which units pass or fail the existing set of test definitions.
